Seller Information Letter

Please read the following information carefully to familiarise yourself with our selling procedures, payment allocations and seller responsibilities.

  • Seller Payouts: Payments for goods sold on auction are processed 7 working days after the conclusion of the auction. Payments are made throughout the 7th working day, not at a specific time. Please do not expect payment or notification at 08h00.
  • Delivery of Goods: Goods may be delivered Monday–Wednesday 08h00–17h00, Thursday 08h00–12h00 and Saturday 08h00–14h00. No goods will be received or offloaded after 12h00 on Thursdays or on Fridays, without exception.
  • Tracking Your Lots: During the auction, you can monitor your own lots under “My Dashboard” → “My Selling Lots”. Your lots update as bidding takes place, allowing you to track their progress. You may not bid on your own goods or arrange for friends or family to bid on your behalf. Suspected seller bidding may result in Deals 4 Africa refusing to sell goods on your behalf in future.
  • Seller Statements: After the auction, your results and payout information are available under “My Dashboard” → “Seller Payouts”. Your statement reflects the selling prices, payment status, returns, commission deductions and final payout amount.
  • Payment Allocations: Payments are allocated manually as funds reflect in our bank account. Your Seller Statement will update throughout each business day as allocations are processed, up until the final payout date. Proof of Payment (POP) does not constitute payment received. Payments are only allocated once the funds have actually reflected in our bank account, during business hours.
  • Unpaid Lots: Lots still reflecting as “Unpaid” on the payout date will be excluded from that payout. Unpaid goods will generally be relisted on the next auction. If a lot reflects as unpaid but has not been relisted, we may have received proof of payment and be awaiting the funds to reflect in our bank account. Please note that a POP does not guarantee that the lot will be included in your payout.
  • Returns & Refunds: Returned lots will reflect as “Returned” on your Seller Statement and will automatically be deducted from your payout. Should a customer receive a refund after your payout has already been processed, the refunded amount will be deducted from your next Seller Payout.
  • Relisting Returned Goods: Returned goods may be relisted with an updated description where appropriate. As per our Seller Terms & Conditions, sellers remain responsible for costs incurred as a result of incorrect or misleading descriptions.
  • Accounts on Hold: If your account is placed on hold due to an outstanding invoice, Deals 4 Africa will not sell goods on your behalf until the matter has been resolved.
  • Commission & Reserve Prices: A 15% commission fee plus VAT on the commission is deducted from the selling price. Goods are sold without reserve, and bids cannot be withdrawn. Listed goods may be sold individually or as a job lot at our discretion.
  • Seller Responsibility: Sellers are responsible for testing all goods and providing accurate descriptions, including their condition, defects and missing parts. Refunds resulting from incorrect descriptions or undisclosed defects will carry a 15% administration fee on the selling amount, plus applicable courier costs.
  • Right to Refuse Goods: Deals 4 Africa reserves the right to refuse any goods that do not meet our listing standards or that may expose the company to unnecessary risk.
IMPORTANT: Seller Statements are updated as payments are received and allocated. The amounts displayed may change throughout the payout period due to unpaid lots, returns or refunds. Only payments received and allocated by the payout date will be included in that payout.

By submitting goods for sale, sellers acknowledge and agree to the applicable Deals 4 Africa Seller Terms & Conditions.

Seller Tips

1

Bring quality items

Clean, working, complete items attract more bids and higher prices. Declare missing parts or faults clearly.

2

Clean & present goods

First impressions matter. Wipe items down, remove dust, and neatly package accessories.

3

Include all accessories

Remotes, cables, manuals, chargers, keys and attachments increase buyer confidence and final price.

4

Be honest about condition

Declare scratches, damage or faults upfront. Transparency builds trust and avoids disputes.

5

Popular items sell fast

Tools & power tools, generators, electronics, homeware, garden equipment and appliances do well.

6

Deliver before cut-off

Late deliveries may miss the upcoming auction. No goods Thursdays after 12h00 or Fridays.

7

Keep your account active

Outstanding or late payments can result in account deactivation.

8

Price expectations

Auction prices are set by market demand. Higher demand means a higher final selling price.

9

Rubbish belongs in the bin

Not on auction — please only bring items genuinely worth selling.
